Description
Het project beoogt in hoofdzaak het structureel voorkomen van wateroverlast in de dorpskern van Leisele. Door water gecontroleerd ruimte te geven in open ruimte buiten de bebouwde kern, wordt schade vermeden zonder problemen te verplaatsen naar andere locaties stroomafwaarts. Locatie 1 - klein retentiebekken : Er wordt een gecontroleerd overstromingsgebied ingericht in de vorm van een bufferbekken met actieve peilregeling via een schuifstuw.
Deze maatregel is noodzakelijk om overstromingen ter hoogte van de Izenbergestraat te vermijden, waar water bij hevige neerslag vanuit het bovenstroomse gebied richting de dorpskern werd opgestuwd. Locatie 2 - groot retentiebekken : Ter hoogte van de Veurnestraat wordt een bestaande overwelfde waterloop opnieuw in open profiel aangelegd. Ook hier wordt de afvoer geregeld via een schuifconstructie, zodat water niet versneld maar gecontroleerd wordt afgevoerd wanneer dit stroomafwaarts veilig kan.
De werken omvatten : allerhande werken, reliëfwijzigingen, detailontwatering, plaatselijk aanleg verhardingen en groenaanleg en -beheer
