L’objectif fixé est la pulvérisation raisonnée des voies principales (zone de ballast + bandes de sécurité adjacentes) sur le réseau ferroviaire belge par le biais d’une utilisation limitée d’herbicides. Infrabel détermine chaque année le nombre de campagnes (1 ou 2) et le nombre de trajets à réaliser sur la base du principe que la pulvérisation sur le réseau ferroviaire classique se déroule en journée et sur les lignes à grande vitesse (LGV1 Bruxelles / Paris, LGV2 Louvain / Liège, LGV3 Liège / Cologne, LGV4 Anvers / Pays-Bas) la nuit.
