Ziel des Vorhabens ist es, zu untersuchen, wie sich die Energiewende auf Investitionen und Arbeitsplätze in der Energiewirtschaft ausgewirkt hat. Dafür werden vorhandene Daten aus Statistiken, Unternehmen und wissenschaftlichen Studien ausgewertet. Auf dieser Grundlage sollen die Investitionen in die Energiewende und die Beschäftigung in der Energiewirtschaft über einen längeren Zeitraum dargestellt werden.
Ein besonderer Schwerpunkt liegt auf den erneuerbaren Energien, da hierzu bisher nur wenige offizielle Daten zur Beschäftigung vorliegen.Zusätzlich kann untersucht werden, welche Kosten der Energieversorgung für Verbraucher entstehen. Dabei werden die Bereiche Strom, Wärme und Verkehr betrachtet und die verschiedenen Kosten zusammengefasst. Der Auftragnehmer unterstützt das BMWE bei der Datenauswertung und bei der Entwicklung geeigneter Kennzahlen.
Ziel ist es, die bisherigen wirtschaftlichen Auswirkungen der Energiewende anhand von Daten verständlich darzustellen.
