Die RLG stellt seine Busflotte ab dem Jahr 2026 schrittweise von konventionellen Dieselbussen zu Bussen mit alternativen Elektroantrieb um. Komponenten wie z.B. Traktionsbatterie, Pantograph zur Ladung der neuen Fahrzeuge oder die Klimaanlage befinden sich auf dem Fahrzeugdach und müssen bei Bedarf getauscht werden können.
Die Werkstatt auf dem Betriebshof muss für die Wartung und Instandhaltung der Elektrobusse ausgerüstet werden. Das Werkstattgebäude wird entsprechend vorliegender Planung auf dem bestehenden Gelände neu erstellt, um den Bedürfnissen der fachgerechten Wartung zu entsprechen.
