De leveringen omvatten de levering van 18 operatordesks voor de controlekamer te Willebroek volgens het ontwerp beschreven in onderhavig bestek. De Vlaamse Waterweg nv bedient bruggen, sluizen en stuwen op afstand vanuit controlekamers. De Vlaamse Waterweg heeft zijn werkingsgebied opgesplitst in drie territoria of regio’s.
Elke regio beheert een aantal corridors of vaarassen. Voor de bediening van deze kunstwerken/objecten wordt in elke territoriale regio een afstandsbedieningscentrale uitgewerkt. In deze afstandsbedieningscentrales gebeurt de bediening vanop operatordesks.
Van deze operatordesks is in een andere opdracht hiervoor speciaal een prototype ontworpen. Op een aantal locaties worden deze al gebruikt. De Vlaamse Waterweg heeft reeds 2 centrales gebouwd, één in Evergem voor regio West en één in Hasselt voor regio Oost.
Naar analogie is De Vlaamse Waterweg momenteel bezig met de bouw van een 3e bediencentrale in Willebroek (regio Centraal). Deze opdracht voorziet de levering en plaatsing van de operatordesks voor de afstandsbedieningscentrale van regio Centraal.
