Het doel van deze opdracht is de uitvoering van een instandhoudingsbeheer van het heidelandschap via schapenbegrazing op het Militair domein: Het Klein Schietveld. Dit gebied beschikt over gevarieerde heidelandschappen met open zand, droge en natte heide, vennen en bossen. Het betreft hier ecologisch zeer waardevolle habitats die veelal Europees beschermd zijn met een bijzondere fauna en flora.
