Im Zuge des Programms "Generalsanierung Hochleistungsnetz" ist die Strecke Bremen-Bremerhaven (1740) zum Hochleistungsnetz auszubauen. Dazu sind insbesondere die Ausrüstung mit ESTW-Technik und neue Standards für die Ausrüstung des Streckenlayouts notwendig.
