De Terugvalverbinding LMW vormt een cruciale voorziening voor de continuïteit van de datacommunicatie binnen de vitale Nederlandse waterveiligheidsinfrastructuur. Wanneer reguliere communicatieverbindingen uitvallen, zorgt deze voorziening ervoor dat meetgegevens van vitale meetopstellingen binnen het Landelijk Meetnet Water (LMW) beschikbaar blijven. Deze gegevens zijn essentieel voor processen rond ‘keren en peilbeheer’, waaronder de operationele besluitvorming over het sluiten van stormvloedkeringen.
Uit een verkenning van verschillende technische alternatieven is gebleken dat uitsluitend het TETRA-netwerk van Entropia Critical Concepts B.V. geschikt is om deze terugvalfunctie betrouwbaar te vervullen. Initieel 5 jaar met optie tot 5x jaarlijkse verlenging
