Deze Engineering & Build opdracht bevat in hoofdzaak de bouw van een nieuwe brug over de Gemeenschappelijke Maas. De inplanting van de nieuwe brug situeert zich ten zuiden van de bestaande brug, zodoende dat tijdens de bouw van de nieuwe brug de mobiliteit gegarandeerd blijft via de bestaande brug.Aan de Vlaamse zijde takt de nieuwe brug ter hoogte van de Labaerdijk aan aan de bestaande ovonde, gelegen in de N78. Deze ovonde dient daarvoor te worden aangepast.

Aan de Nederlandse zijde takt de brug aan op de Schansberg, dewelke dient te worden aangepast.
