De opdracht betreft de levering van een campusbrede softwareomgeving voor reken- en simulatietoepassingen (MATLAB/Simulink), inclusief bijbehorende functionaliteiten, toolboxes, ondersteuning en updates ten behoeve van onderwijs en toegepast onderzoek. Fontys hecht groot belang aan de beginselen van het aanbestedingsrecht, waaronder non-discriminatie, gelijke behandeling, transparantie en proportionaliteit. Om hier invulling aan te geven en ter voorkoming van rechtsonzekerheid, maakt Fontys middels deze aankondiging vooraf kenbaar dat zij voornemens is de opdracht rechtstreeks te gunnen aan MathWorks B.V.
Fontys hanteert daarbij een voorafgaande bekendmaking als bedoeld in artikel 4.16 lid 1 onder b Aanbestedingswet 2012. De beoogde looptijd van deze overeenkomst is 24 maanden met een verlengingsoptie van driemaal 24 maanden.
