Für den Forschungsbau ACTIVE SITES wird ein mit Elektrochemie sowie Raman- und Massenspektrometrie gekoppeltes Röntgenbeugungssystem (GIXRD-RS) beschafft. Das System basiert auf einem Pulverdiffraktometer mit zwei Strahlungsquellen (Cu und Mo-Röntgenröhre), einem 2D-Detektor sowie vielseitigen In-situ-Zellen und kann im Transmissions- und Reflexionsmodus betrieben werden. Es dient der Untersuchung struktureller, insbesondere oberflächennaher Veränderungen fester Stoffe unter realen Prozessbedingungen.
Durch die Kopplung mit komplementären Methoden wie RamanSpektroskopie und Downstream-Analytik (z. B. GC, MS) wird ein Operando-System realisiert, das die Analyse katalytischer Reaktionen, elektrochemischer Prozesse sowie die Bestimmung von Reaktionskinetiken ermöglicht.
