De afdeling Biomedical Engineering & Physics van Amsterdam UMC beschikt over een bestaand preklinisch 7T MRI systeem van het type MRS*DRYMAG 7024PW, geleverd door MR Solutions Ltd. De afdeling zet dit systeem in voor preklinisch beeldvormend onderzoek in kleine proefdieren, gericht op de ontwikkeling, validatie en toepassing van nieuwe MRI-technieken voor cardiovasculair, oncologisch en neurologisch onderzoek. Dit onderzoek vraagt om snellere en gevoeliger acquisitie dan het huidige systeem kan leveren.

De beoogde upgrade van spectrometer, gradiënten en RF-spoelen is nodig om deze onderzoekslijnen voort te zetten en uit te breiden. Deze upgrade, waaronder een spectrometer, een gradiënt-insert en RF-spoelen, inclusief installatie, training en bijbehorend onderhoud, is door MR Solutions aangeboden op dit bestaande 7T MRI-systeem. 1
