De gemeenschapsinstelling De Zande biedt gesloten residentiële begeleiding aan jongens vanaf 14 jaar en heeft drie campussen, waarvan Ruiselede bezig is met een grootschalige modernisering. In de eerste fase, die momenteel in uitvoering is, wordt gebouw 1 gerenoveerd voor langdurig verblijf en onderwijsruimtes, gevolgd door gebouwen 3 en 4, die respectievelijk een onderwijsgebouw met grootkeuken en een administratief complex worden. De werken voor gebouw 3 en 4 starten in de zomer 2026 en moeten de werking van de campus niet verstoren, waarbij bijzondere aandacht wordt besteed aan veiligheid, erfgoedbehoud en duurzaamheid.
