Langetermijnmonitoring van Europees beschermde en Vlaamse prioritaire soorten levert essentiële informatie voor de verplichte rapportage in kader van Europese richtlijnen en Vlaamse wetgeving zoals het Soortenbesluit. Deze kennis is cruciaal om de toestand en trends van kwetsbare, beschermde soorten te bewaken en waar nodig maatregelen te treffen. Voor heel wat soorten vormt de bijdrage van burgerwetenschappers daarbij een onmisbare bron aan waarnemingen.
Het doel van deze opdracht is de coördinatie van de derde cyclus van door burgerwetenschap gedragen soortenmeetnetten, na de cycli 2016-2020 en 2021-2025. De opdracht omvat de coördinatie, opleiding en aansturing van vrijwilligers voor het inzamelen van verspreidings- en abundantiegegevens van de doelsoorten, het beheer en de doorstroming van de monitoringsdata, en het organiseren van projectopvolging voor de meetcyclus 2026-2030.
