De stad Leuven lanceerde in 2021, samen met zes buurgemeenten (Bierbeek, Holsbeek, Lubbeek, Rotselaar, Haacht, Oud-Heverlee) ‘wij.leveren’, een digitaal leverings- of distributieplatform voor pakketverzendingen van lokale handelaars op het grondgebied van Leuven en buurgemeenten. De bedoeling is om te groeien, zowel in de breedte, dit is in geografische scope (minstens Mechelen en Diest komen erbij) als in de diepte, dit is inzake marktpenetratie. Met deze overheidsopdracht wordt beoogd om een partner aan te stellen die enerzijds instaat voor ondersteunende dienstverlening ter voorbereiding van de logistieke uitvoering en anderzijds de operationele uitvoering op zich neemt van de verzendingen gegenereerd door het wij.leveren distributieplatform.

De geografische zone Leuven is momenteel uitgebreid met de buurgemeenten Haacht, Rotselaar, Holsbeek, Lubbeek, Bierbeek en Oud-Heverlee. Het is mogelijk dat deze zone verder uitgebreid wordt met de buurgemeenten Herent en Bertem tijdens de looptijd van de overeenkomst. De gemeenten Mechelen en Diest (zonder buurgemeenten) behoren ook tot het geografische gebied dat door wij.leveren zal worden bediend.

Mechelen is in de praktijk nog niet opgestart, dit is gepland in de loop van 2025.
