De opdracht heeft tot doel om ondersteuning te bieden aan het team Ontwerp Weginfrastructuur voor wat betreft topografie en landmeetkundige taken. De meest voorkomende opdracht is een topografische trajectmeting van een bepaald wegvak of kruispunt. De bedoeling is in hoofdzaak dat met deze basisinfo verderop een technisch wegontwerp wordt opgemaakt en alle info beschikbaar is om plannen op te maken voor aanvraag van de omgevingsvergunning (o.a. langs- en dwarsprofielen).

Om die reden zijn in elk geval 3D-gegevens noodzakelijk om een digitaal terreinmodel te kunnen opmaken.
