De dienst behelst het onderhoud van toeristisch- recreatieve routes in de provincie Antwerpen. De onderhoudswerkzaamheden worden gegroepeerd als volgt:
- Onderhoud van toeristische route-infrastructuur
- Herstellingswerken aan toeristische route-infrastructuur
- Uitvoeren van maai- en snoeiwerken rond toeristische route-infrastructuur
- Traject omleiden of afsluiten
- Omzetten van Wandelknooppuntennetwerk naar bewegwijzerde lussen
- Verwijderen van bestaande toeristische route-infrastructuur
- Plaatsen van nieuwe toeristische route-infrastructuur
- Uitlezen van tellers
- Installatie/weghalen waterpomp bivakzones
- Stockage van de toeristische route-infrastructuur en materiaal De opdrachtnemer vormt op het terrein als het ware mee de oren en ogen van Toerisme Provincie Antwerpen.
Door de betrokkenheid is hij alert voor allerlei dingen die van invloed kunnen zijn op de routes. Naast het melden van bv. wegenwerken of problemen met vandalisme, zijn andere suggesties ter verbetering altijd welkom. Anderzijds geeft de opdrachtnemer door zijn aanwezigheid op het terrein ook zichtbaarheid aan de mensen achter de routes.
Hij stelt zich naar het publiek toe dan ook klantvriendelijk op. In het kader van deze opdracht wil de aanbestedende overheid de sociale cohesie versterken.
