Eén van de basistaken van het Centrum Medische Genetica (CMG) is het detecteren van causale DNA varianten die aan de basis liggen van erfelijke aandoeningen. Het Centrum Medische Genetica (afgekort CMG) van het Universitair Ziekenhuis Antwerpen heeft beslist om het bestaand Artificial Intelligence softwarepakket voor HPO gebaseerde filtering DNA varianten te vervangen. Het doel van de Artificial Intelligence (AI) gebaseerde software is om:
- de fenotypische kenmerken van patiënten mee in rekening brengen bij de analyse; en
- snel een genetische diagnose te kunnen geven aan de patiënt.
