De opdracht behelst het uitvoeren van metingen ter plaatse, bemonsteringen en analyses van afvalstoffen, grondstoffen, bodem en mest, op aanwijzen van de toezichthouders van de afdeling Handhaving van het departement Omgeving. Meer bepaald gaat het over onderzoeksopdrachten en/of technische controles in het kader van:
- Hoofdstuk V, afdeling III van het besluit van de Vlaamse Regering van 12 december 2008 tot uitvoering van titel XVI van het decreet van 5 april 1995 houdende algemene bepalingen inzake milieubeleid
- Artikels 68 en 69 van het decreet van 23 december 2011 betreffende het duurzaam beheer van materiaalkringlopen en afvalstoffen
- Artikel 82. van het decreet van 25 april 2014 betreffende de omgevingsvergunning
- Strafrechtelijke onderzoeken.
