Gegenstand der Beschaffung ist die GMP-konforme Herstellung von 150 kg des Wirkstoffs BTZ-043 für klinische Phase-III-Zulassungsstudien. Aufgrund bestehender Patente, exklusiver Herstellungsrechte sowie des proprietären, vollständig nach Quality by Design (QbD) optimierten und GMP-zertifizierten Herstellungsverfahrens ist die HAPILA GmbH der einzige Wirtschaftsteilnehmer, der den Wirkstoff in der für die klinischen Studien und die spätere Zulassung erforderlichen, mit den bisherigen Chargen vergleichbaren Qualität herstellen kann. Andere Lizenznehmer sind ausschließlich zur Herstellung von Forschungschemikalien berechtigt und dürfen BTZ-043 nicht als pharmazeutischen Wirkstoff produzieren.
