Description
Die Region Hannover ist Aufgabenträgerin für den öffentlichen Personennahverkehr in der Region Hannover. Gemeinsam mit weiteren Projektpartnern führt sie seit dem Jahr 2023 das Projekt "ALBUS - Integration von autonomen Linienbussen in der Region Hannover" durch. Das Vorhaben wird durch das Bundesministerium für Verkehr gefördert.
Der derzeitige Bewilligungszeitraum endet am 31. Dezember 2027 Im Rahmen des Projekts sollen Elektrobusse mit automatisierter oder autonomer Fahrfunktion beschafft und unter realen Verkehrs- und Betriebsbedingungen erprobt werden. Ziel des Vorhabens ist daher nicht allein die Beschaffung von Fahrzeugen, sondern insbesondere deren Einsatz und Erprobung im öffentlichen Personennahverkehr.
Der Betrieb der Fahrzeuge soll durch ein von der Region Hannover bestimmtes Verkehrsunternehmen erfolgen. Nach derzeitigem Stand ist hierfür die ÜSTRA Hannoversche Verkehrsbetriebe Aktiengesellschaft vorgesehen. Die Region Hannover bleibt Auftraggeberin des vorliegenden Vergabeverfahrens.
