Het Leids Instituut voor Onderzoek in de Natuurkunde (LION) wil een vervanging van hun Elektronenbundel Patroongenerator. Op basis van een uitvoerige marktanalyse in het segment van compacte R&D turn-key Elektronenbundel Patroongenerator-systemen en nano-bewerkingsplatforms is vastgesteld dat er geen alternatief bestaat. Alleen het Raith e-Line 100 platform voldoet cumulatief aan de hieronder genoemde criteria die noodzakelijk zijn voor de continuïteit en het specifieke karakter van het wetenschappelijk onderzoek binnen LION.
