De opdracht bestaat erin om de expertise inzake alternatieve methoden in Vlaanderen verder in kaart te brengen te bundelen in een reeds bestaande databank. Dit omvat onder meer het onderhouden van de online tool die gebruikt wordt om nieuwe expertise in te dienen, de databank zelf en de website (https://www.re-place.be/). Ook het verzekeren en verder verhogen van de zichtbaarheid en het gebruik van de databank en alternatieve methoden via een omkaderende werking, en de positionering van RE-Place als 3R-centrum, dat inzet op Replacement (vervanging), Reduction (vermindering) en Refinement (verfijning), valt onder de opdracht.
