Description
Het stadsbestuur Geel wenst voor SAIO een aangepaste moderne nieuwe schoolinfrastructuur te voorzien. De school is momenteel verspreid over twee vestigingen: Velveken 9 en De Billemontstraat 77. Beide gebouwen zijn zeer oud (1855 en 1913) en aan een grondige renovatie toe.
Deze zijn momenteel niet afgestemd op de specifieke noden van een school voor buitengewoon onderwijs. Het bestuur wenst haar buitengewoon onderwijs te centraliseren op één locatie met voldoende binnen- en buitenruimte. Geen van de huidige twee locaties lenen zich hiervoor omdat ze te klein zijn.
Daarom opteert het bestuur voor een volledige herhuisvesting op een andere locatie.
