Description
De site Kouter ook wel bekend als de voormalige rijkswachtkazerne is in het bezit van Interwaas. De site is steeds polyvalent inzetbaar geweest getuige daarvan de veelheid aan functies die sinds 1765 in de gebouwen en site hebben vertoefd. Sociaal zorgende functies zijn drager geweest van de site doorheen de jaren.
In overeenstemming met haar strategisch doel wil Interwaas op de site een toonaangevend woonproject realiseren. Het is de intentie van Interwaas om een realistisch, financieel haalbaar programma binnen de gestelde randvoorwaarden te laten realiseren. In de zoektocht naar een verdere sociale invulling van de site heeft Interwaas een samenwerkingsovereenkomst afgesloten met CAW Oost-Vlaanderen.
Interwaas is verantwoordelijk voor de ontwikkeling van de site inclusief de parking en het (semi) publiek domein. Het CAW is verantwoordelijk voor de realisatie van het opvangcentrum en CAW-vestiging binnen het ontwikkelingskader van de site. Voor de ontwikkeling en realisatie van de Site, inclusief het opvangcentrum en CAW-vestiging, zullen de partijen een geïntegreerde aanpak hanteren.
